About Childish

CHILDISH is a company founded and registered in 2013, which produces and trades in childrens toys and childrens character branded clothing and accessories. The first product offered by CHILDISH is an African Black doll, brand and character with an exaggerated afro known as MOMPPY MPOPPY.

The company is a fully black youth-owned enterprise specifically founded to fill the void identified by its founders for an authentic African Kiddies character, brand and toy which little girls can associate with, a majority of dolls and girls clothing/accessories lack a representation of the diversity of different races and cultures as found in our society. Most dolls and branded young girls clothing and accessories have a similar image, which for the most part is not African. This is the gap that the owners of CHILDISH intend to fill.

Company History

The company in its 2nd year managed to secure shelf life at Lilliputs Toys in Rosebank mall. Childish also creates employment by giving sales skills to young unemployed youth which make an earning by being employed as sales consultants.

The business also uses creative and lively ways of marketing its products by using mediums like the internet and business-to-business platforms to get customers and clients. This has been rather lucrative for the business and has created the type of attention needed by the company. Kiddies events and parties have also been used as an effective platform to drive sales and market our products, a platform that has been minimally used by our competitors.

Capacity and Capability

Childish has already managed to meet private orders and sales through social media marketing and word of mouth and is currently in talks with prospective NGOs, cooperates (online and retail) about the potential for more work.

CHILDISH has ambitions of using the images of the dolls logo on other toys which are generally associated with being boy toys such as quad bikes and battery operated helicopters and cars to move away from toys normal generalised as girl toys which arent mentally and physically stimulating for young girls.

CHILDISH also intends to utilise the MOMPPY MPOPPY brand on other types of textiles besides clothing such as duvets, pillow cases, towels, washing towels and school bags as part of its intentions to grow and popularise the image of the doll while equally achieving the status of being a lucrative business. This is not limited only to textile, but also on childrens hygiene products, beauty products and stationery items all branded with the image of the MOMPPY MPOPPY
